Red's Head

My First attempt at human head sculpting with sculptris.....thank you johnathan willaims for aiding me in some of the general techniques for sculpting in 3D programs. Anyhow hopefully this will aid me in my recent project of modeling a character model for Red outside of his suit. Thank you for viewing my stuff and enjoy!

John Esborn Character Model Update #2

So I have been working on this model so more and I have added some more armor to the model......I am really liking the armor plate look; it really gives off a sleek but imposing look to john's silhouette. Anyhow enjoy and keep checking in for more updates on my current project!

John Esborn Character Model Start

So I have figured out what I want to practice rendering in cycles now. I decided to model one of my comic book characters that I have never modeled before. I have also decided to use a large amount of normal maps in order to reduce my polygon count while and in turn make working in cycles a lot faster.... anyhow here is my first progress check....enjoy!

Cycles!

So this is not new technology but it has been something that I have been reluctant to try due to it's complexity and node system that looks like a road map of wires, input, output boxes, slider adjustment tabs, and just a vast amount of options that scared the hell out of me. So I recently decided to give it a try and have found it to not be as complex as I had thought it to be....it is still a daunting task to accomplish however, I am definitely excited to learn to use it......soooooo here is my first test render with it and even with how simple this scene is, the lighting and reflections are amazing and seem accurate to the real world! enjoy!!!

Got My Rig Done

So I spent some time today rigging up this mesh I downloaded from cgcookie.com.....thank you johnathan williams, you are the best mentor haha. Anyhow I hope to get some test animations done sometime today for everyone to see :D....anyhow enjoy!

A Smoke on The Rails

I recently purchased metro 2033 the game and have read half way through the book and was inspired by Dmitry Glukhovsky's post apocalyptic society and decided to sketch and color this in my tiny new sketchbook. Anyhow enjoy!!

Tower Update 3

So Unfortunately due to a relatively quick project time frame this has to be my final mesh, but I will try my best to tweak it with a better render tomorrow. Anyhow here is another update of The Tower's Model!

Nude Chair

So my buddy Jesse inspired me to figure draw on this wonderful snow day lol so here is one!

Passing the Water

made this fairly quick and thought it had a bit of an accent to it. I was inspired by the ending of a book I finished today," Brave New World" just the way the main character lives when he is first introduced is rather interesting and refreshing comparatively to the rest of society in this novel. anyhow here is a fun sketch from my brain!

Tower Character Model Day 1

So spent several hours today in blender and managed to get this much done of my character model, it's a good start I feel. I'm really happy with how the body mesh turned out so far, the armor is certainly challenging.

Tower Character Model

So I've decided on my next project being another character model of one of  "The Zone" characters. I chose Frank or "The Tower" because I wanted the challenge of creating complex armor and muscle structure in Blender. I also changed his last design to have a more functional looking armor as oppose to Red's midsection issues XD. So here are my reference orthographic views with block color added, hopefully these work a lot better than my character model for Red. Anyhow here it is, I'm excited to start modeling again tomorrow morning.

College Portfolio

So I finally submitted my college portfolio to CCAD this past friday and good lord is it a relief to finally have that off of my shoulders. It's finally done and is now in the hands of the admissions office who will decide on where my next step in life is. I can't even contain my excitement to finally be on my way towards my dream. Anyhow here are the pieces I submitted and pray to the art gods that my portfolio is good enough.

Environment Update #2

Here is another update for those who are watching me. I have added some test lighting to show off the secularity maps and textures. Im still trying to tweak the textures so that all of the distortion is cut down to a minimum. However this tunnel is really coming along for my first attempt at such a project. Thanks for watching to those that visit every now and again.

Environment update

Here is just an update on my environment design for a maintenance tunnel of some kind. I've added quite a few details and have a few objects textured but overall the project is coming along better than I intended.

Environment Design

Here is my next project in portfolio as I head back to school. I decided to take on the challenge of environment design and create a small set in which I can practice texturing and learn some more about lighting and rendering. This tunnel I intend to be eerie, mysterious, and scary; much like the long claustrophobic halls of dead space and metro 2033. This project I assume will be quite a bit more work than many of my previous models though I think it will certainly provide a good learning experience with some more advanced modeling and rendering. My M1911 pistol will still be in the works though will have to be put on hold until some time opens up for myself. Anyhow here is your first look.
