So I have figured out what I want to practice rendering in cycles now. I decided to model one of my comic book characters that I have never modeled before. I have also decided to use a large amount of normal maps in order to reduce my polygon count while and in turn make working in cycles a lot faster.... anyhow here is my first progress check....enjoy!
Hi my name is Jake, this is my artists blog in which I spew all of my ideas and crazy projects to the internet. I'm choosing to major in 3-D animation due to the steep learning curve, complexity, truly specific field, and my absolute adoration of 3-D film and video games. I hope to one day make a career out of my passion, but in the mean time have a look, comment, follow, and tell your friends! Enjoy!

Cycles!
So this is not new technology but it has been something that I have been reluctant to try due to it's complexity and node system that looks like a road map of wires, input, output boxes, slider adjustment tabs, and just a vast amount of options that scared the hell out of me. So I recently decided to give it a try and have found it to not be as complex as I had thought it to be....it is still a daunting task to accomplish however, I am definitely excited to learn to use it......soooooo here is my first test render with it and even with how simple this scene is, the lighting and reflections are amazing and seem accurate to the real world! enjoy!!!
