The Zone Summary

It's 2,032 and war has changed. We are no longer fighting over territory, personal vendettas, or revolution; man is now fighting for it's very existence.In 1986 the Chernobyl power plant had a catastrophic meltdown in reactor #4 resulting in a large explosion spewing hundreds of thousands of radioactive particles into the air all over the Chernobyl and Pripyat area. The area wasn't deemed safe by the Ukrainian government until Dec 2, 2011, where the area was opened to tourists looking for a more dangerous vacation. In 2,018 the U.S. and Russia are at war once again, pushing closer and closer to the brink of nuclear war. In desperate need of the uranium 223 that fueled their weapons of mass destruction, the Russian government decides to close the Chernobyl area for a two day period in hopes to recover the uranium left inside the power plant; although the recovery squad finds something unexpected inside the area. The discovery made by the team would completely change the direction of the war creating a conflict that would outweigh all of those prior to it. The team lead into the heart of the Exclusion Zone found that the inhabitants of the Chernobyl/Pripyat area have now been mutated to a point where they have become blood thirsty animals that will feed on anything that will supply a sufficient meal.

Noticing these abominations must be eliminated and in an effort to cover up their mistakes, Russia pulls out of the war with the united states and focuses it's funds on exterminating the creatures that inhabit their home land. It's now 14 years later and the extermination has turned into a fight just to contain these asexually reproducing monsters in the area.

The efforts by the standard military has left the two sides in a stalemate and progress has come to a halt, so they've had to turn to science. The R.A.F (Research for human augmentation foundation) pitched the idea of creating super soldiers; the research is there but there just hasn't been a purpose for them. So the idea was approved and the first FLAK super soldiers (Mark 1s) were created. This is how our story begins.......
